AAIR Is Among First Practices to Join Rochester RHIO

AAIR, PC is pleased to announce our practice will be among the first to participate in the Rochester Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO), which will be launched shortly. This is the new electronic health information exchange that will help us to treat you better by ensuring that your physician has secure, rapid and timely access to your health information, such as lab and radiology test results, as well as medication history.
This information is already routinely exchanged on paper between your physician offices as part of your treatment via mail, fax or courier, as well as through phone calls. The RRHIO allows this same information to be shared electronically by means of a secure and online exchange. Eventually, this will interface directly with AAIR’s electronic medical record system, which is in the implementation process now.
Our patients will be asked to sign a consent form in order for their information to be exchanged electronically among medical offices which participate in the RRHIO. Not consenting to (or “opting out” of) RRHIO participation may impair timely delivery of quality medical care and result in delays in obtaining test results or duplication of services, etc., which contribute to increased health care costs.
